Busboy Robot Serves Customers at Montreal Dumpling Shop

Montreal Chinese restaurant Harbin Dumpling’s most current and darling server is a robot by the name of Johnny Boy.

With guidance from the inventors, the Saint-Denis street eatery owners programed Johnny Boy to bring dishes of dumplings from the kitchen to the customers’ tables.

Johnny Boy uses sensors mounted on the ceiling to navigate around the restaurant’s dining area.

The price tag for a similar robot, who speaks three languages English, French and Mandarin, is between $10,000 and $20,000.
