Every year for 10 days and nights, downtown Montreal transforms into what the Guinness World Records calls the world’s largest jazz festival.

This years 40th-anniversary festival takes place from June 27 to July 6 with 150 indoor concerts, there is something for all style of music fans, in particular, aficionados of jazz in its purest form.

Some of the top-tier artists performing at event are Norah Jones (June 27), Blue Rodeo (June 28), Patricia Barber (June 30), Melody Gardot (June 29 and 30), Diane Reeves (July 1), George Benson (July 1), Peter Frampton (July 5) and Buddy Guy and Colin James (July 6). Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 26 at 10 AM

The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal founded in 1979 draws together some of the planets best musicians from all styles of music and has just announced its indoor concert lineup. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 AM.

Verdun was selected to host the first annual roving satellite site on Wellington Street. Each year for the duration of the festival a satellite will be set up in a different neighbourhood.
