You know when you see something in a picture and feel you must be a part of that. The Montreal Water Lantern Festival might just be one of those things.
Newsweek, Ryan Bort, described sending a message in a bottle as a romantic act that has “such a delicious potential for magic” or as “surrendering a part of yourself to something larger”, concluding that “every message in a bottle is a prayer.
The use of bottles to send messages is unkind to our rivers, lakes and oceans. An 100% ecological alternative is to use wood and rice paper lanterns.
Imagine being on the sands of Oka beach, watching your individual lantern among hundreds as they gently sway to the flow of the water lighting up the night sky with personal messages. It might just be one of those things you should experience in your lifetime.
Each adult ticket includes the following.
– A lantern that floats
– A commemorative cord bag
