Montreal’s winter festival (Fête des neiges de Montréal), returns this Saturday, for the events second weekend, after being canceled this past Sunday due to the weather.
The outdoor family event is in its 36th edition, and that takes place over 4 weekends with the aim of discovering and celebrating the joys of winter.
Organized by the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau, this popular family-oriented event offers shows along with a wide array of activities. Such as; Dog sledding, Snow scooter races, Giant Human Foosball , Boot hockey, Axe throwing…
With the exception of Frosty slides and Dog sledding, the activities, shows and special events are all free.

Dog-sledding: An introduction to dog-sledding.Ice Ship / Meet Capitaine Crinière and his crew members aboard this massive pirate ship! People of all ages, are invites aboard to do some sliding in a majestic setting!Frosty slides / Venture into this imposing village composed of 18 ice slides of varying heights and sizes that will delight the whole family.Giant Human Foosball / The traditional table foosball game is turned into a human-scale version. Handy beavers help the budding sculptors showcase their artistic talents on blocks of snow that will decorate the Mayor of Beavertown house.Mysnow Experience / Introduce your children to alpine skiing or snowboarding at our mini ski slope. The activity is offered in partnership with the Quebec Ski Areas Association.
Initiation program offered to children aged between 5 and 8 years old.Axe Throwing / Try your luck at axe throwing. Will you have enough precision to reach the middle of the target?

Every Sunday during the Fête des neiges de Montréal, you’ll have a chance to explore the various sights of Île Sainte-Hélène on snowshoes. Accompanied by a Stewart Museum guide, you’ll see the remains of military buildings and climb Mont-Boullé to the imposing Tour de Lévis for a breathtaking view of the river and Montréal.
Starting at: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
