The Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, built in 1965, that connects Vaudreuil-Dorion to the west of the island of Montreal is going to be replaced with a new structure that will be 50 per cent larger.
The new bridge will have reserved lanes for buses and a bike path. Roughly 83,000 vehicles use the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge every day.
The project is expected to cost several hundred million dollars and be completed by 2029 or 2030.
