Want to wish upon a shooting star, tonight you can chose from among the hundreds of shooting stars flying over Montreal

This weeks annual Geminid meteor shower will fill the night skies above Montreal and its country side in a spectacle comprising of thousands of shooting stars.

The meter shower peaks in Montreal overnight on Dec. 13 and 14 and in the light-polluted city skies you’ll be able to make a wish on between 20 – 60 shooting stars per hour.

Under the  darker county sky the number of visible shooting stars could reach 120 per hour.

The last comet of the year, Comet 46P/Wirtanen, (The “Christmas Comet”) will be bright enough to be seen with naked eyes as it makes its closest approach to the Earth in 70 years, on Sunday, December 16th.
